Having a Solar Energy Panels system commissioned is surely a green activity and one which should be encouraged as going to reduce the carbon footprint by reducing CO2 emissions. Given that the Solar Energy Prices run at around £12,000 for a typical building Solar Energy Panels system, this can be quite an expense for a home owner to make. On the positive side there are payments available from the feed-in tariff that can provide around £700 to £900 per year in savings on Solar Energy Prices, by sending excess electricity to the national grid and for being paid for creating one’s own electricity. But the savings may not end there, if the home owner is prepared to look into energy saving appliances and buy high rated ones, they may well save even more.
There may be a difficulty in that the building may require more electricity at peak times than the Solar Energy Panels can make, or maybe this may be the case at other than peak times also. In these cases, if the home owner wants to take advantage of renewable energy sources as much as possible then they may well have to look into a battery storage system and even maybe a wind turbine. While the wind turbine may supply electricity, it is largely dependent on a good supply of wind, whereas Solar Energy Panels can still function in daylight, but they function better in bright sunlight. Naturally the wind turbine can be very dear compared to the Solar Energy Prices and so this may well put it out of the scope of many customers, also, there may be local planning rules on wind turbines, whilst Solar Energy Panels may well be acceptable.
The most efficient and economical means looks to be Solar Energy Panels in a building that is on-line with to the national grid, and using the grid to back up the Solar Energy Panels output at peak times. In this way the home owner will be making the most of the Solar Energy Prices they have paid and also be remunerated with payments from the feed in tariff.
