Here we might like to discuss in this article the difference between two fixing services available for digicam lenses. Some folk may not even realize the difference, or that there are options available. Camera owners should be informedIt’s Significant for consumers to know that there are options available {and you do not always have to just sending the camera to the maker for a $200 repair as there are services available which will do lens repair for only $100!
Let’s begin with the digital camera lens repair service. Using the Canon Canon SD1000 camera lens repair for our example, this repair covers all the E:18 Lens Error messages (for older Canon models), the Lens Error, Restart Camera (for more recent Canon models), the E:61 error (for Sony models) and all the different types of error messages seen from other camera manufacturers.
Usually in most cases, you can’t mend a broken lens and must replace the broken lens (even with lenses that have no obvious actual damage) with a new, OEM lens. Take note however, that the image sensor isn’t necessarily replaced, and your original image sensor will be used. Occasionally, if the damage caused to the lens is harsh enough, the CCD might malfunction too. If your CCD goes bad, your lens isn’t always bad, and what you need replaced is just the CCD, which is cheaper and simpler to replace than the complete lens assembly.
The second kind of lens mend we offer is pretty much exclusive to Canon cameras at the moment. This lens repair is for cameras where the lens is working but the built in lens flaps do not ; it’s called the Lens Barrier Repair Service. Here we’re going to use the Canon SD750 lens barrier repair as an example. This kind of problem generally does not cause your lens to stop working and give the E:18 or one of the assorted other error messages. The barriers on the lens are used to keep debris out of the lens mechanism, and to give protection to the glass from fingerprints when the camera is turned off.
Occasionally, if the camera is banged, these barriers can be knocked out of alignment, or pop off whether or not the impact is just light. As long as there’s no heavy damages to the existing lens housing this is often fixed for cheap! These lenses use plastic as their way of holding this assembly together, so there’s always an opportunity the housing can break or crack, preventing this type of mend altogether.
This kind of problem is without trouble repaired, and is far cheaper than a lens replacement, because the parts are inexpensive and less complicated. Again, if the plastic housing is damaged, depending on the extent, you could need a lens replacement. Of course if the lens barrel is badly damaged you might need to replace the entire lens. The lens is still perfectly functional without the barriers, but vulnerable against scratches or dust .
Hopefully these tips are going to help you to spot what Canon camera repair service your camera needs. Ensure that when it comes to your digicam repair you do some searching on the web. Don’t just take the word of the person at the store the mending will cost hundreds of bucks and you should just toss the camera in the dumpster.
